President's Comments:

The club started off the year with a absolutely exceptional Cruise on the 28th. Kelly and Kathy set up a cruise to the Applefield Estates. After arriving we were shown their prized Clydesdale horses and were treated to a wagon ride around the property, while pulled by 2 of the Clydesdales. The experience was truly a treat as we made our way around the small lake, and with temperatures in the mid 60’s it felt like spring. We then jumped back in our Vettes and made our way to Ichiban Sushi and Seafood Buffet for lunch. This new restaurant is now my new favorite oriental buffet place.

In February we are planning to Cruise down to Tallahassee to take part in the Cruisin Corvettes annual Valentine Party. This is always a good time and it’s nice to do events with other clubs.

Work on Caravan 2012 has already started. John has the registration forms and itineraries completed and Brent has them posted on our web site. Last year our Caravan was a tremendous success and every year it seems to get better. Much of that was due to the extraordinary team work our club members displayed during the event. For the Saturday night auction, Charley and Jim have already started gathering Corvette unique items for the auction. This year’s Caravan will be from 17-19 May.

We had a really good turn-out for the dinner with the Emerald Coast Corvette club on the 8th. Check out the photos, including one really bad looking ZR1. If it looks familiar, it's a copy of the ZR1 that Steve drove down from the plant for our Caravan last year. Anyway, we had a very nice dinner and good conversation.

Our thanks to the Applefield family for sharing their day with us.

Then, Ichiban in Dothan's Pavilion mall.  We were so busy enjoying the marvelous food, it has become the favorite oriental of several of us.

Here's a pic  for those to busy to look around at the unique decor.
