R8C Reunion Added to 2010 Event Schedule

R8C ReunionIt's back by popular demand! The National Corvette Museum has added the R8C Reunion to the 2010 Calendar of Events. The event will become a staple for the Museum, being offered annually for past R8C and Xperience participants.

"Usually we rotate between R8C and Pace Car Reunions. With the 15th Anniversary event this year we didn't have either so it threw our rotation off by a year," said Roc Linkov, NCM Events Manager. "Many of our previous participants enjoy the camaraderie the event offers and didn't want to wait until 2011, so we added it to the schedule."

Each year, Reunion participants will take road trips with the direction they go changing each year. This year's event will take place around August 11-14 but in the future it will take place in June.

New Corvette Plant Manager Arrives

Bowling Green is proud to welcome Bob Parcell as the new plant manager of the General Motors Bowling Green Assembly Plant. Parcell began work for GM in 1979 as a co-op student, and most recently served at president of Cami Automotive, a joint venture between GM and Suzuki in Canada.

"If you are in this business... the business of building cars, this is a dream job. We've all dreamt of one day running the Corvette plant," said Parcell.

Former manager, Paul Graham, has moved to Arlington Assembly Plant in Texas to oversee the production of conventional and hybrid versions of the Tahoe, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade.

Members can enjoy a full article / interview with Bob Parcell in our September / October issue of America's Sports Car magazine... hitting mailboxes this week! Not a member? Find out more information and sign up here!
